The UK has a two party system, voting for Utopia is irrelevant

In every seat in the UK there is an MP voted in by a majority of people in that constituency.  Many of those people vote automatically out of habit, family tradition, or perceived self interest.  But equally, some of those people can change their vote.  All it takes is for 50% of votes equal to each MPs majority to switch votes to whoever came second in that seat, plus 1 other person, for that Labour or Tory MP to lose their seat.

If it was our MPs who were second, that means our party would win all 650 seats in Parliament.  But in fact, we can afford to fail to do that in 324 of those seat and still form a Government.  Is it really that impossible?  Is the UK really lumbered with just two poor choices forever?

There are some essential steps needed for change:

  1. You  need to believe this is possible and not write it off and vote out of habit constantly accepting the poor choices we have had in the past.

  2. For you to realise that even if Utopia is just marginally better than Labour or Tories then it worth changing your vote.

  3. To change your vote to Utopia.

But thats all thats needed.   And if people believed that our policies are better than the alternatives, why wouldn't people vote for a change?  Its not like we've not given all the alternatives a go.
